Στο μεταξύ 85 πτώματα ανασύρθηκαν από ερείπια βομβαρδισμένων κτιρίων.
Η ΕΕ μετά την ανακοίνωση ταύτισης-στήριξης του Ισραήλ, θα κατηγορήσει τηννόμιμη κυβέρνηση της Γάζας, αν αυτή υπερασπιστεί το λάο και τα εδάφη της Παλαιστίνης;

The hospital was hit by four Israeli shells and by many bullets.

A person from the Red Cross came to look at the damage. The type of bullets are the long ones from Israeli tanks, not the smaller ones from Palestinian militant weapons.

I am 100% certain the shrapnel is Israeli - the number of shells fired so closely together. Militant rockets aren't that accurate.

90 οργανώσεις ,κυρίως από τη Γαλλία,κατέθεσαν μήνυση κατά του Ισραήλ για εγκλήματα πολέμου στο Διεθνές Ποινικό δικαστήριο

Μήνυση για διάπραξη εγκλημάτων πολέμου κατέθεσαν 90 οργανώσεις κατά του Ισραήλ στο Διεθνες Ποινικό Δικαστήριο ,ενώ ταυτόχρονα προσβάλλουν στο Ευρωπαικό Δικαστήριο τη συμφωνία αναβάθμισης των πολιτικών και οικονομικών σχέσεων Ε.Ε. -Ισραήλ ,ζητώντας την ακύρωσή της,λόγω παραβίασης του άρθρου 2 της συμφωνίας αυτής,που προβλέπει σεβασμό των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων από τη πλευρά του Ισραήλ.

Στο μεταξύ σε συνέντευξη στην ισραηλινή εφημερίδα, Jerusalem Post, αξιωματούχος της στρατιωτικής σχολής του Ισραήλ,ονόματι Amos Guiora δήλωσε ότι η ρίψη φειγ βολαν από τον Ισραηλινό στρατό,που καλούν τους άμαχους της Γ'άζας να εγκαταλείψουν τα σπίτια τους, αποτελεί θαυμάσια γραμμή υπεράσπισης στο Διεθνές Ποινικό Δικαστήριο.

Ακόμη δήλωσε ότι το Ισραήλ θα συντελέσει στη δημιουργία νομικού προηγούμενου, συστέλλοντας την έννοια των εγκλημάτων πολέμου, με τη διεύρυνση της έννοιας της "νόμιμης άμυνας" και της "εθελοντικής ανθρώπινης ασπίδας", αποδίδοντας ευθύνες στα θύματα για το θάνατο και τον τραυματισμό τους.

Οσο για τη χρήση βομβών λευκού φωσφόρου ,που προκαλούν εγκαύματα και ασφυξία ,ο Γεν Εισαγγελέας του Ισραήλ διαβεβαίωσε τους δημοσιογράφους ότι αυτό το όπλο δεν είναι απαγορευμένο από διεθνείς συμβάσεις και χρησιμοποιείται από τον 1ο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο.

Ομως η οργάνωση Human Rights Watch καταγγέλει ότι βόμβες φωσφόρου απαγορεύεται, από το διεθνές ανθρωπιστικό δίκαιο ,να χρησιμοποιούνται σε πυκνοκατοικημένες περιοχές,γιατί προκαλούν τεράστιες ανθρώπινες απώλειες.

Από τη μεριά τους οι γιατροί του Διεθνούς Ερυθρού Σταυρού καταγγέλουν ότι τα τραύματα που αντιμετωπίζουν προκαλούν σοκ ακόμη και στους ίδιους, ενώ σύμφωνα με το υπουργείο υγείας της Γάζας ο αριθμός των νεκρών έφθασε τους 1000, εκ των οποίων οι μισοί είναι άμαχοι, και οι τραυματίες τους 4580.

Και η σφαγή συνεχίζεται με το 91% των Ισραηλινών να είναι υπερ ,το 4% κατά και το 5% να μην έχει άποψη,σύμφωνα με χθεσινή δημοσκόπηση της ισραηλινής εφημερίδας Maariv

The hasbara brigade strikes again! You always hear about Israeli attempts at media manipulation. Everyone knows it's going on but usually the process happens through cyber insurgents like those involved with Giyus (and its media monitoring software, Megaphone). Now, we know that the Israeli foreign ministry itself is orchestrating propaganda efforts designed to flood news websites with pro-Israel arguments and information.

A reader of my blog has received the following email which documents both the efforts and the agency that originated them. The solicitation to become a pro-Israel "media volunteer" also includes a list of media links which the ministry would like addressed by pro-Israel comments:

Dear friends,

We hold the [sic] military supremacy, yet fail the battle over the international media. We need to buy time for the IDF to succeed, and the least we can do is spare some (additional) minutes on the net. The ministry of foreign affairs is putting great efforts in balancing the media, but we all know it's a battle of numbers. The more we post, blog, talkback, vote – the more likely we gain positive sentiment.

I was asked by the ministry of foreign affairs to arrange a network of volunteers, who are willing to contribute to this effort. If you're up to it you will receive a daily messages & media package as well as targets.

If you wish to participate, please respond to this email.

My friend did so and received this official communique from the ministry with talking points about Operation Cast Lead which s/he was to use in her/his propaganda efforts. Among the links was was a Peter Beaumont Cif piece. The following were identified as "target sites": the Times, the Guardian, Sky News, BBC, Yahoo!News, Huffington Post, and the Dutch Telegraaf. Also targeted were other media sites in Dutch, Spanish, German and French considered critical of the invasion.

Here are some newsworthy items out of Gaza that are unlikely to be making it to the Western presses. I received this information directly from one of the staff of the Mezan Center for Human Rights about twenty minutes ago.

1. Israel has begun a new policy in Gaza in the past two days called the "roof knock". This is when a "small" rocket is fired from Israeli military aircraft that is strong enough to blast open the roof of a targeted building. It is sent as a "warning message" to the building's inhabitants giving them between 2 and 3 minutes to evacuate before the building is completely destroyed. A number of cases of this new technique have been reported recently.

2. While the UN continues to claim that "only" 25% of the casualties from the attacks on Gaza are civilian, the Mezan Center for Human Rights (known for the care it takes not to overstate the numbers and for its strict verification policies) estimates that the number of civilian casualties is approximately 85%. In particular, the number of children has increased to over 200, and the number of women has surpassed 75. One reason for the lower civilian casualty figures used by the UN has to do with the reluctance to consider men -other than the elderly and sick- as non-combatants. In fact the overwhelming majority of men killed in "Operation Cast Lead" up to now have been non-combatants, including fathers, teachers, shopkeepers, construction workers, laborers, students, as well as the civil policemen. The vast majority are not "Hamas militants." Note that the civil police are considered 'non-combatants' under international law and are therefore not 'legitimate' targets in any military confrontation any more than traffic cops or firemen.

3. The UN announced this evening that "almost everyone in the Gaza Strip" is now in need of humanitarian aid. Indeed, even those with adequate food supplies are a) handing out what they have to people in "shelters" (which have been targeted consistently by Israeli war machines in the past); Even those with adequate food supplies are b) unable to obtain bread anywhere. Many are using rice or spaghetti to substitute for carbohydrates -- when these are availabe and when there is water and electricity to allow for cooking these items.

4. There are widespread reports now of forced evacuations of entire neighborhoods of people who go mainly to nearby schools or other public buildings not yet destroyed. These are considered no more secure than their homes but remain the only other places to go (other than to move into crowded dwellings with relatives; or places no more secure than their own homes). The congregation of so many people in these enclosed spaces increases the likelihood of major civilian casualties when airstrikes target the area.

PLEASE PROTEST THESE AND OTHER ACTIONS OF THE UNITED STATES AND ISRAEL, TWO COUNTRIES THAT CLAIM THE WHOLESALE DESTRUCTION OF A PEOPLE IS A MATTER OF 'SELF DEFENSE'.

Ανταπόκριση από Ράφα (Λωρίδα της Γάζας), από ΕΛΛΗΝΑ ακτιβιστή κι όχι από δημοσιογράφους που ξεκουράζονται στα πολυτελή ξενοδοχεία της Μοσάντ

Ανταπόκριση από Ράφα (Λωρίδα της Γάζας, σύνορα με Αίγυπτο) *

- Η χειρότερη νύκτα από πλευράς αεροπορικών βομβαρδισμών στη Ράφα. Κάθε 5 με 10 λεπτά και ένας-δυο πύραυλοι, κυρίως από F-16. Οι βομβαρδισμοί συνεχίζονται και αυτή την ώρα. Κυρίως (αλλά όχι μόνον) πρέπει να έχει χτυπηθεί η περιοχή των συνόρων, με τα τούνελ, όπου όμως πλέον χτυπιούνται σπίτια. Κάποιες πληροφορίες μιλούν για δυο σπίτια, ο κόσμος εδώ ήδη μιλάει για 8 σπίτια χτυπημένα.

- ΕΚΚΛΗΣΗ: Κάντε κάτι, ασκήστε πίεση να σταματήσουν οι Ισραηλινοί να χτυπούν ασθενοφόρα. Έχουν χτυπήσει καμιά δεκαπενταριά, και έχουν σκοτώσει τουλάχιστον 7, ίσως και παραπάνω, τραυματιοφορείς και γιατρούς. Οι διεθνείς ακτιβιστές του ISM στο βόρειο τμήμα της Λωρίδας της Γάζας εδώ και μέρες συνοδεύουν ασθενοφόρα. Εμείς εδώ στο νότιο τμήμα δεν έχουμε ξεκινήσει ακόμα, όμως ήδη έχουν γίνει κάποιες προετοιμασίες. Περιμένουμε κλήση για αποστολή σε επικίδυνη περιοχή. Στην Ερυθρά Ημισέληνο στη Ράφα, με την οποία θα αρχίσουμε να συνεργαζόμαστε, μας είπαν ότι ένα από τα ασθενοφόρα τους παραλίγο να χτυπηθεί από πύραυλο μη επανδρωμένου ισραηλινού αεροσκάφους, μόλις που πρόλαβε να ξεφύγει. Γενικά βάζουν τους τραυματίες όπως όπως στο ασθενοφόρο, και φεύγουν, και μετά αρχίζουν να τους φροντίζουν.

- Την ώρα που οι άνθρωποι της Ε.Η. μας δείχνουν κάποια πράγματα μέσα στα ασθενοφόρα που ενδεχομένως να συνοδεύσουμε, στον ασύρματο ακούγονται πολλές συνομιλίες. Μας εξηγούν ότι οι Ισραηλινοί εμποδίζουν ασθενοφόρο να μεταφέρει τραυματία, από το νότιο προς το βόρειο τμήμα της Λωρίδας της Γάζας.

- Τα ασθενοφόρα εμποδίζονται να φτάσουν στους τραυματίες οι οποίοι πεθαίνουν αβοήθητοι. Εγκλωβισμένες οικογένειες δεν μπορούν να φύγουν. Χθες στην Ερυθρά Ημισέληνο μας είπαν για μια οικογένεια στη Τζαμπάλια, που εδώ και μέρες ζητά να την απεγκλωβίσουν, αλλά δεν μπορούν να πλησιάσουν. Μας έδωσαν τηλέφωνα να τα μεταφέρουμε στους συναδέλφους μας στο βορρά, μήπως μπορούν να κάνουν κάτι...

- Γενικά η κατάσταση στην Τζαμπάλια είναι απελπιστική. Όπως ξέρετε οι Ισραηλινοί χτυπούν τα σχολεία των Ηνωμένων Εθνών όπου έχουν βρει καταφύγιο όσοι/ες έχουν εγκαταλείψει τα σπίτια τους. Εκατόμβη νεκρών. ΚΑΝΤΕ ΚΑΤΙ να σταματήσει αυτή η σφαγή! Επιπλέον τα μηνύματα που μας έρχονται από Τζαμπάλια είναι ότι ο κόσμος πλέον δεν έχει τρόφιμα και ΝΕΡΟ!

- Προχτές το βράδυ, μια από τις συναγωνίστριες του ISM, η καναδή Έβα Μπάρτλετ, παραλίγο να σκοτωθεί μαζί με πολλούς δημοσιογράφους όταν το κτίριο στο οποίο βρίσκονταν, δέχθηκε επίθεση από ελικόπτερο Απάτσι. Οι Ισραηλινοί όχι μόνο δεν αφήνουν τους δημοσιογράφους να εισέλθουν και να μεταδώσουν τις θηριωδίες που λαμβάνουν χώρα στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας, αλλά τώρα προσπαθούν να σκοτώσουν και τους λιγοστούς δημοσιογράφους και διεθνείς εθελοντές που μπορούν να αποκαλύψουν τα γκλήματα που συμβαίνουν.

Richard Miron, the UN spokesman, said the Israeli army had been notified in advance about the movements of the UNRWA convoy

John Ging, the head of the UN relief agency in Gaza, said that the casualties in the convoy attack were Palestinian civilian contractors hired to bring supplies from the crossing points.

"They were co-ordinating their movements with the Israelis, as they always do, only to find themselves being fired at from the ground troops," he told Al Jazeera.

"It has resulted tragically in the death of one and the injury of two others."
